On offer:  Salary up to 70,000 Euros + 20-25% Bonus

This appointment, based in MALTA - is responsible for developing strategically the QUALITY function, by ensuring implementation, monitoring and measuring of solid quality systems to support the Food Control business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead & ensure adequate implementation of established systems, procedures, protocols to provide consistent consumer satisfaction, product quality, food safety, HACCP, Allergen controls, FSSC 22000, Quality Management System and Quality Management Monitoring Systems.
  • Ensures quality throughout all the stages of the product life cycle (from product development up to product monitoring) in order to drive a zero quality defect tolerant culture.
  • Develop and implement the Quality department's strategy, to ensure it meets with the business requirements & customer deliverables, as well as ensuring the departmental performance against goals.
  • Overall responsibility and constant focus to maintain adequately & effectively the FCP certification programs (including FFSC, IS and Halal)
  • Routinely works with cross-functional groups such as R&D, Process Support, Regulatory, Operations, S&M, Engineering & Purchasing to establish and to achieve business objectives.
  • Provides support for new Contract Manufacturing site approval process.
  • Monitor qualitative performance & implement intervention strategies where standards fall below minimum expectation.
  • Ensure that all activities are performed in accordance to all applicable EU/Local regulations, GMP, company SOPs & Health and Safety policies.
  • Constantly monitors & reports Quality KPI’s.
  • Ensure the availability of adequate competent resources to carry out the review and approval of batch documentation in accordance to the company’s procedures & GMP requirements.
  • Maintains network of internal & external food safety experts to draw from when working with unfamiliar / new food processing technologies.
  • Act as the key customer interface in relation to Quality Performance and Quality Management.
  • Responsible for evaluation and resolution of customer / consumer product quality issues.
  • Manage the Quality team providing direction, motivation & leadership whilst ensuring to develop the team to meet current and future business needs.
  • Embedding a Quality driven culture within the entire organisation.

EDUCATION:

A Master of Science degree in Food Science or a related / similar field (Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry)

EXPERIENCE:

·        Minimum of 10 years of quality assurance experience within food manufacturing operations

·        Minimum of 5 years in a quality management role (leading food safety & food quality programs), auditing certification/experience is highly recommended.

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

·        Ability to learn new food processing technologies & determine critical food safety aspects alone or through consultation with internal /  external experts as appropriate.

·        Development of QA/QC strategy & solid quality management systems.

·        Excellent knowledge in Food Regulation & Quality Standards including HACCP, FSSC2200, BRC, Halal, Kosher.

·        Effective upkeep of quality certifications & standards.

·        Provides expert advice on Quality within the company.
