Job Description

LOCATION: Chesterfield, Derbyshire

JOB TITLE: Production Assistant

SALARY & BENEFITS: £8.16 rising to £9.75. per hour + bonus opportunity

WORKING HOURS: Full Time - 6am- 2pm / 2pm- 10pm alternating weekly within an annual hours contract (av. 40 hrs per week.)

THE COMPANY / ROLE: Our client is one of the UK's longest-established businesses specialising in powder process equipment and contract powder processing, and now has a great opportunity for an experienced Production Assistant to join a small, friendly, well established production team operating from a small unit based on the Sheepbridge industrial estate near Chesterfield.

As a Production Assistant, you will be responsible for operating a range of unique milling machines producing materials to strict quality standards.

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Production Assistant role must have previous experience operating machinery in a production or manufacturing environment and must have sound literacy and numeracy skills, with the understanding of the importance of working to strict quality control and safety standards. You should be a responsible and willing person who is comfortable in working with some hazardous materials that require the wearing of a variety of PPE for extended periods, be someone who takes pride in their work and be used to maintaining high standards of hygiene and housekeeping. Candidates must be able to commit to a working a shift pattern, be available for occasional week-end working and be able to commute easily to the Chesterfield, Derbyshire area.

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Production Assistant role:-

- Previous experience operating machinery in production environment essential
- Must have good numeracy and literacy skills
- Be able to work to and maintain high standards
- Willingness to work with some hazardous materials that require wearing of variety of PPE for extended periods
- Must be reliable and able to work a shift rota pattern
- Must live within commutable distance to Chesterfield
