Job Description

Transport Infrastructure Consultant (Electric/Low Emission Vehicles) - the role is based in Leicester - paying up to £50,000 per year.

The Opportunity:

I am currently on the lookout for an Infrastructure Consultant to work on a variety of next generation transport infrastructure projects, both in the UK and in Europe. This will include assisting local authorities with the development of schemes relating to Electric vehicle infrastructure, Low Emission zones, Vehicle to Grid and Alternative Fuel technologies.

Ideally, individuals coming from a background in charge point installation/manufacturing, energy production/management, automotive science and environmental research and development should apply. I would also be happy to speak to MSc or PhD students who have studied electrical or automotive engineering and are interested in working in a progressive R&D environment.

Skills and Experience

  • A passion for Electric and Ultra low emission vehicles
  • An understanding of the impact of Electric Vehicles on the electricity network
  • An awareness and understanding around location selection for EV charge points
  • Any experience of working within an R&D department would be highly desirable
  • Strong Interest in developing the future of the transport sector

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on issues surrounding the installation and management of EV charge points
  • Provide technical advice for research and consultancy projects in the ULEV market
  • Contribute to bids for new business and the delivery of existing business
  • Advise on the health and safety elements of installing EV charge points
  • Assist with overcoming any issues surrounding planning permission and grid connection
  • Develop customer relations and increase client satisfaction
