The new Director of ITMS will continue the modernisation of our IT provision. This exciting role needs a strategic level change agent and technology leader to drive organisation wide technology transformation. The Director of ITMS will lead an efficient, pragmatic yet innovative IT provision to DMU's diverse student, teaching & learning communities resulting in a demonstrable improvement in customer satisfaction across these groups.

DMU is an ambitious, globally-minded institution with a relentless focus on delivering excellent teaching and learning, high-quality research and a sector-leading student experience. DMU's ability to provide a market-leading technology offering will be key. This role represents a unique opportunity for an exceptional technology leader to deliver change and ensure DMU's aims are realised.

The Role:
• Operate as a senior leader right across the University, build positive relationships with key professional services and academic stakeholders. Stimulate, shape and manage the demand for IT Services.
• Inspire the IT team, shape its culture and drive the adoption of contemporary IT industry disciplines. Drive clarity of responsibility, and process, plus create an absolute focus on customer service, change delivery and organisational benefits.
• Develop and deliver an innovative, cogent IT strategy, which streamlines our technology and ERP landscape and delivers a sophisticated digital customer experience.

The Candidate:
• With significant exposure to complex information or knowledge driven industries, you will have the ability to understand the needs of a truly diverse business, plus have demonstrable experience of shaping high performing IT functions to meet them.
• Politically savvy and an outstanding communicator, you will have the ability to proactively build relationships with board level stakeholders, both across the University and in wider industry.
• An excellent people leader, you will have the proven ability to enthuse and galvanise large IT teams. You will have created shared visions of the future and implemented, customer-focused professional IT working practices.

DMU strives for our staff to be as diverse as our student body. We have a diverse and progressive leadership team who strongly advocate the need to ensure the university enables all talent to flourish. Applications to this post are encouraged from all members of the community.
