Are you a qualified Science Teacher looking for a new opportunity from January 2014?
Do you have experience of working with students with social, emotional and behavioural needs?

We are currently recruiting for an innovative and experienced Science Teacher for a special school located in the Sittingbourne area of Kent. The successful Science Teacher will be teaching Science to GCSE level. We are looking for a candidate with enthusiasm for teaching Science. You do not necessarily have to hold a background within SEN teaching, but a passion for your subject which will enthuse and motivate your students. Every day working within special educational needs will be different from the last. So if you are looking for something different, this is the Science Teaching post for you. This is a temporary post with potential of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

The post will be to provide:
- Planning and delivery of Science curriculum to GCSE level
- Team work with therapists and Teaching Assistants

In order to carry out the role effectively, you will:
- Have QTS
- Experience of working with students with social, emotional and behavioural needs, whether this be in a mainstream or special school environment
- Have experience of leading a team of support staff
- The ability to build and manage relationships constructively with a wide range of pupils

The school, rated by Ofsted as good with outstanding features, specialises in helping young people who find it particularly difficult to access a conventional school environment due to social, emotional or behavioural problems and associated learning difficulties. The secondary provision is located in central Sittingbourne. Support within the school is exemplary with therapy, educational psychology, and speech and language services onsite. Training is continually available for all staff.
