Job Description

Job title - Software Engineer (to fit in with our standard titles)
Location - Solihull
Salary - £30 - £35k

The team are looking for somebody proactive and dynamic, who ideally has worked in a high demand or pressured role previously.

Purpose

To develop and maintain the company implementation of SharePoint.

Technical Duties

*Develop and maintain SharePoint governance policies.
*Architect, design, support, configure, and develop the SharePoint environments, including a main Intranet portal, team sites, personal sites and other Extranet initiatives.
*Maintain and administer SharePoint services, including Search, Workflow, BCS, Secure Store, Enterprise Metadata, UPS and Infopath services.
*Develop, configure and maintain document libraries, enterprise lists and site collections.
*Manage and support SharePoint end user accounts, permissions, access rights and storage allocations in accordance with best-practices regarding privacy and security.
*Liaise with vendors for efficient implementation of new software products, tools, and systems as well as resolution of any adaptation issues.
*Recommend, plan, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.
Operational Duties
*Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with SharePoint framework, sites, and information.
*Enhance SharePoint functionality and/or performance as necessary.
*Generate web statistics and reports as needed, using custom or packaged tools.
*Develop and maintain user and technical manuals and guidelines.
*Work with desktop support staff on deployment of necessary end user software.
*Work as part of a team supporting Core Applications, maintaining availability and functionality.
*Other Duties as advised

Experience

*Degree in the field of computer science, or comparable appropriate experience.
*Dedicated SharePoint 2010/2013 Farm Administration, including advanced knowledge of SharePoint Designer, is required.
*Qualifications from the MS SharePoint 2013 course stack preferred.
*Microsoft SQL database maintenance, SharePoint integration desirable.
*Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, XML, CSS and XSLT.
*Mastery of SharePoint 2010/2013 fundamentals including out of the box web parts, lists, content types workflows, templates and master pages.
*Excellent understanding of SharePoint administration, including: management of service applications, management of web applications and corresponding IIS components, site collection administration, performance tuning, solution deployment, search framework, and backup/restore via Central Administration and PowerShell Scripting.
*Understanding of InfoPath forms development and deployment, desirable.
*Must be able to work occasional nights, weekends, and on-call as necessary.
*Must have a keen interest in Technology improvements, integration strategies and implementing new systems and services in a busy, customer delivery focused team
