Job Description

This is a rare opportunity to join a forward thinking Secured / Unsecured Loan organisation. In their underwriting division.

Our client is looking for an experienced Secured Loans Underwriter to work in their underwriting department, conducting quality calls which lead to suitable outcomes for all of their customers.

The successful applicant will be measured on a range of competency KPI’s to ensure all customers respond to you and go on to complete suitable loans.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • To receive and take applications from numerous business sources including on-line and introducers
  • Professionally assess all cases in order to make informed underwriting decisions that are in line with Company Policies, Procedures and lending criteria
  • Accurately assess the risk on an application ensuring that the loan is affordable, plausible and sustainable with an underwriting rationale applied to each case prior to funding

Skills Required:

  • Strong team player with a positive attitude
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise daily workload whilst working accurately under pressure
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Up to date and working knowledge of all relevant legislation and regulation as stipulated by the FCA
  • Previous 2nd Charge manual underwriting (desirable)
