How GetPlaced collects, uses and protects your personal information.

Who we are

GetPlaced.co.uk is the controller of the personal information described in this notice. You can contact us at support@getplaced.co.uk.

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address, account type and, for employers, your company name.
  • Candidate profile details you choose to add: headline, discipline, location, work style, experience, salary expectation, skills, qualifications, summary and a stored CV.
  • Applications: the vacancy, your cover note and the CV you send.
  • Saved vacancies, saved searches and your email preferences.
  • Employer details: company profile, logo, vacancies and messages sent to candidates.
  • A record of the emails we send you, and technical information needed to run the site securely, such as server logs.

How we use it

  • To create and run your account, confirm your email address and keep the account secure.
  • To rank live vacancies against your profile. Matching uses fixed, visible rules. It makes no automated decisions about you and never rejects anyone.
  • To send your application, cover note and CV to the employer who posted that vacancy.
  • To send service emails: confirmations, password resets, application updates and, if you save a search, job alerts. Every alert email has a one click unsubscribe link. We do not send marketing email.
  • To review vacancies before they are published, including automatic checks for signs of fraud that our team then reviews.

We rely on the performance of our service to you, and our legitimate interest in running a safe and credible job board. Where you choose to make your profile visible to employers, we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unticking the visibility box.

Who can see it

Your profile is private unless you choose to make it visible. If you do, confirmed employers can see your headline, discipline, location, experience, salary expectation, skills and summary, but not your name, email or CV. Employers can send you a message through GetPlaced; we pass it to you by email and do not share your contact details. When you apply directly, the employer for that vacancy can see your name, email address, cover note and CV. Our administrators can access information when needed for moderation, support and security. We do not sell personal information.

Some vacancies take applications on the employer's own website. Anything you submit there is handled under that employer's privacy policy.

We use service providers to host the website and database and to deliver email. They process data only on our instructions.

Cookies

We use a single essential session cookie to keep you signed in and to protect forms. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your Settings page, which removes your profile, CVs, applications, saved jobs and saved searches. Records of emails we have sent are kept for account security, with the message text removed after 90 days.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete your information, and object to or restrict how we use it. You can download a copy of your data and delete your account yourself from your Settings page. For anything else, email support@getplaced.co.uk to make a request. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
